Vulkos Development

Vulkos is on a mission to make chip design truly accessible. Our platform lets anyone use powerful EDA tools in the cloud to learn and design integrated circuits, with a current focus on digital design.

We’ve just completed our first round of MVP testing, and the initial feedback has been incredibly valuable. This milestone has helped us refine the core experience and confirm that a browser‑based path from RTL to layout is not only possible, but genuinely useful for students, hobbyists, and startups.

On the tooling side, the sandbox environment has seen major performance and usability upgrades. You can now:

  • View GDS layouts in 3D for a more intuitive understanding of your designs
  • Compare multiple runs and metrics side‑by‑side to see how changes affect results
  • Leverage smart backend metrics extraction so key numbers are automatically surfaced
  • Run testbench verification directly in the browser to validate your logic
  • Generate Yosys schematics for a clear, visual view of your design structure

We’re also building a dedicated learning environment alongside the tools. This will include interactive exercises, guided flows, and plenty of low‑cost EDA learning materials to help newcomers get from “I’m curious” to taping out their first design.

This is just the beginning for Vulkos, but development is moving fast. If you’re interested in learning digital design or experimenting with open‑source EDA in the cloud, stay tuned…there’s a lot more coming soon.
