The other way round

Sum of products reads a circuit off the rows where $Y = 1$ . Product of sums does the opposite: it reads the circuit off the rows where $Y = 0$ .

Both describe the same function. They just start from opposite ends of the truth table:

	Reads rows where	Shape
Sum of products	$Y = 1$	AND terms, then OR
Product of sums	$Y = 0$	OR terms, then AND
